Chris' focus on client/server technologies over the past ten years makes
him a perfect fit for the Fast BugTrack team. Working for clients both
large and small, from Nortel Networks and Bell Canada to Big Words and
Spidertop, Chris has seen a variety of software development practices.
During the past several assignments, Chris has acted as the
build/configuration prime, responsible for the delivery of a variety of
software projects, interfacing with the QA team, and frequently with the
end-customer/client.
"A quality bug tracking tool is so important to the software development
process - second only to using a source code repository. After having
worked on five consecutive projects for clients, none of which were
using a real bug tracking tool -- I felt that there was a real market
need for a tool that was affordable to large and small teams, and that
could be easily deployed into a development environment in which most
team members were already working 110%. Following conversations with
Sue Norton, another founder of Alcea Technologies with 15 years of QA
experience, we felt we could develop a superior product, and provide a
market leading solution."
Chris is one of the founders of Alcea Technologies, as well as having
cofounded Magma Communications (the largest independent Internet
Service Provider in Ottawa) in 1995, developing the Chat Server - a web
based chat engine, and L'Hotel Chat - one of the largest chat sites on
the Internet in 1996. Chris' wife makes Chris spend most of his free
time with her and their two young children. This makes it hard to really concentrate on the art of brewing good beer.
