Menu Overview
The Admin screens are accessed by an "Admin Menu" link, which is available to all users with admin privileges. This link is visible in the main menu at the top of all Fast BugTrack screens.
Basic Admin Options
User - maintain user list and privileges.
Group - organize users into groups.
Server Configuration - change major settings.
SMTP Settings - settings for SMTP server used for email notifications.
Notify List - configure notification drop down list used on new/update screens.
Customize Strings - create languages, change global text strings.
Field Options
Custom Field - create custom fields.
Default Field - modify/disable default fields.
- Project, Area, Environment, Status, Priority, Description.
Field Hierarchy - create parent/child field relationships.
Field Control - define field properties by groups (R/W,Read,Hidden,Mandatory)
Field Order - create custom field sections and customize field ordering
Color Coding - define rules for highlighting data in the main menu.
Additional CSS - override css attributes from the default styles or create new rules quickly.
Workflow - define rules to control field access and advanced behaviours that are dependant on issue states.
Rank - define ranking/escalation formula to compute rank field for ordering issues.
Advanced Admin Options
Database Administration - available on enterprise version to control database connections and migration tools.
Event Scheduling - create scheduling events to receive scheduled reports/charts/notifications or to create regular backups.
Data Import - import new entries from an Excel csv file.
Data Export - export existing entries to a csv or xml file.
SOAP functions -controls for remote SOAP access.
System Info - information about the java process and environment.
Exception Log - log of any past debugging exceptions.
Backups - utility for creating system backups.
Unarchive - provides a means for unarchiving existing archived issues.
System Message - utility for sending notifications to system users.
Shutdown -server shutdown option.
Anonymous Access - configure access from external html pages.
Anonymous Entry - control access for making entries (externally).
Anonymous Query - control access for viewing existing entries (externally).
Anonymous Email Retrieval - configure an external POP,IMAP account for retrieving new entries.
Mail Server Administration - configure account login info.
Mail Rules - create rules for interpreting retrieved email messages.
Return Messages - configure retrieval responses (used by mail rules)
Basic Ordering
Many of the basic administration screens allow you to specify the order in which items appear in dropdown menus. The default setting is alphabetical, however this can be overridden to be the order in which they appear in your administration screen (Load Order). You can modify the Load Order by pressing the up or down arrow beside a particular item.
A preview is provided at the bottom of the screen, to show you how the dropdown will appear on the various Fast BugTrack screens.
