Field Layout
Defaut Fields
Fast BugTrack is packaged with a set of default fields to help ease the installation of the product and allow users to get up and running in the quickest amount of time. Options for these fields are configured slightly differently from custom fields and appear above the custom fields on the detail screens.
Custom Fields
Custom Fields allow you to create custom fields for any additional purpose. These fields appear immediately after the default fields and just before the Description.
Field Hierarchy
Fields relationships can be created with the use of the Hierarchy feature. This feature allows you to link a parent field to a child field so that any modifications of the parent field will change the options that are available to the child field.
Access Controls
The Field Controls page is used to enforce and/or restrict field information. All control properties are set for each group, allowing different levels of access for different roles of users. Fields can be set to Read Only or made hidden. Field entry can also be made mandatory.
Field Order
Field Order allows you to rearrange the layout of fields on the New/Edit/View Issue pages. Default and custom fields can be put into any order, and new section headings can be created.
Workflow
Workflow allows you to define rules for field access and layout, based on issue criteria rather than the group settings that can be achieved in the field control menu. A workflow rule will enable you to catch flow states of issues and define data sets based on the state of an issue. A detailed discussion is available in the Admin Section below.
Rank / Escalation
A special rank field is available to allow you to sort issues using a configurable ranking formula. The rank menu allows you to define the formula used in this calculation. The rank field is just like any other field. It can be added as a column in the main menu and made visible to any of the issue detail screens.
