Creating Issues

The "New Bug" menu link will take you to the New Bug screen. This screen lists all of the fields that can be filled in for a new issue.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • Fields are only mandatory if they show an exclamation image next to them. Drop down fields will also show a Select.. prompt. However, it is always helpful to provide as much information as possible for the purpose of reproducing bugs.
  • The initial status of a new bug is "Open" by default.
  • Subjects appear on the bug summary list, so it is handy to provide a high-level description of the bug here.
  • Set an appropriate priority level for the bug.
  • Assign the bug to the appropriate user within the system.
  • Fill in an appropriate description.
  • If you do not want to create a new bug, select a different link from the menu in the upper right corner.
  • The bug is created once you press the "Submit Bug" button. The screen will display the Bug ID associated with the bug.

Cloning

A cloning feature has been added to this page to allow you to create new bugs where fields default to the values of the issue they are being cloned from. The Clear Original History blanks out the history for the new cloned issue, rather than keeping the parents entries. The Record Cloning History simply places a cloned from note in the description.
